Uncle Ian, Aunt Solange and cousin Aiden came to visit yesterday as well and he is getting to know his new family little by little.
I also did my best to make sure he becomes a true Oklahoman last night. We watched WWE Raw and listened to ZZ Top. He is well on his way...
I have discovered the first time that everyone has their own ideas for what is best, but no one agrees on the solution. This one is about the best way to take a baby's temperature. Our well baby class said the most accurate device is the new digital forhead thermometers that use an infrared light to detect his temp. Then I read on medical sights online the only accurate way is to use a rectal thermometer. Then we had to watch a video before leaving the hospital that said we should NOT use a rectal thermometer and use one under his arm pit. Three different opinions, all claiming to be the right way.
We went for our first wellness checkup today. We found out his crying is probably because he is so gassious. That will settle over time. He also turned out to be 11% jaundice (15 is bad), and the nurse said it will clear up over the next few days. He loved the car ride and slept the entire trip.
Grandpa Craig is taking us out to dinner tonight, so we'll see how Ash does in public!
Here are two more pictures until later.

Ryan had the same blue and brown outfit... in fact he came home from the hospital in it, lets just say it fit a little more snuggly!
ReplyDeleteHe's totally precious!! I'm jealos of Mom and Dad getting to hold and squeeze him!
Ryan had jaundice issues as well, he got up to 18.5 before his liver finally kicked in. Just try and get Ash some sunlight and that will help, and if it comes to it, ask for a bili light/bili blanket... instead of having to lay under the lights, you can wrap him up with the light. It looks a little glow-wormish, but at least you can still hold and snuggle him! (And I realize that's unsolicited advice, but deal with it, I'm your sister!)
